Foursurance is proud to be vegan-owned! But what does it mean to do business with a vegan-owned insurance agency?
It means you will be supporting a local business that goes the extra mile to eliminate the use of animal products in all that we do, while also supporting organizations that make the world a better place for animals.
Here are some examples of our vegan-friendly practices:
Owner Don Ferlazzo volunteers with the Humane Society of the United States, writing letters and making phone calls to lawmakers to encourage their support of animal-friendly legislation. Don has also met with lawmakers in Albany to help eliminate the insurance industry’s now-former practice of discriminating against owners of certain dog breeds including Pit Bulls.
Don has served on the board of directors for the Capital Region Vegan Network, volunteering his time at meetings and events while also helping CRVN secure vital funding through annual grants.
Don continues to sponsor CRVN events including their annual Albany VegFest and their all-vegan Trunk-or-Treat Halloween event.
Don has organized multiple insurance agents volunteer days at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in Menands, during which agents from across the Capital Region each volunteered four hours at the shelter. He also helped MHHS secure annual $5,000 grant as a result of their volunteer efforts.
Don continues to help MHHS secure annual grants in support of their Oktopurrfest fundraiser, as well.
When Foursurance hosts an event with a food component, we make sure there is always a vegan option available to attendees. This includes our annual car show, which featured vegan quesadillas from Muddaddy Flats Quesadillary and non-dairy ice cream sandwiches.
